This weekend we had a great time with our parents who came to help celebrate baby dedication/presentation at our church. Our sweet baby looked so cute as she wore the same dress as my nieces. I'm excited to see all the little girls in our family pass is down to their little girls. A very sweet tradition. Here are a few pics that my mom took before we went to church.
I finally found a cute children's store here in Springfield. I've been looking ever since we moved here, but it wasn't until I asked my hairdresser and she turned me on to a store call Jellybeans...cute, cute, cute! I stopped by there yesterday to get HG a new bow for Sunday and they just happened to be having a huge sale, so we scored big! Here is HG modeling one of her new shirts :)
We finally got Hadley her Christmas present today. I know its way past Christmas, but I didn't get it ordered in time and by the time I tried they were out of stock :( If you know me at all you know that I avoid clutter like the plaque. I have put off buying and having others buy a million baby things and toys. You could say that I'm somewhat of a minimalist in this area. I have seen how fast kids grow out of stuff and I didn't want toys strung throughout the house ALL the time. So, naturally I put off the idea of an exersaucer because who wants that as their living room decor? I mean really, when did toys in a basket become so old fashioned? Now it's necessity that you have the play gym, the light singing animals, and the dreaded exersaucer. Well, I was determined that we didn't need one, we were going to have educational toys that satisfy her curiosity. End of story! Ok, obviously those were my thoughts before Hadley came along. Now that she is getting older and wanting to play with toys I want to buy her everything! She is so fun to play with and to see the look on her face when we get out a new toy is addicting. Who cares if the giant excersaucer in glow in the dark fushia is in my living room? She thinks its AWESOME and that is enough reason for me to have toys everywhere!!
Hadley has been talking so much today. Every time I would get the camera out to film her she would stop. I thought that was going to be the case again, but then she started talking up a storm again. Her little voice and giggle crack me up. This video is a little long, but I just couldn't stop :)
Today we tried cereal for the first time :) Of course being first time parents we are obnoxiously crazy over Hadley and have to document every first. There will be a lot this year so hang in there having to listen to my high pitched voice on camera (it sounds way higher on the video than in person...right??? teehee). Check out HG's reaction and her little nose scrunch..too cute!
I took Hadley to the Dr. today for her 4 mo check up and she is weighing in at a whopping 15 3/4 lbs and 26 in long. She is in the 90th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height. She is a growing baby! I still call her little bean, but my little bean is getting big. :) I know that its easy to be sentimental about your baby growing up and I am, but I have to say that I'm excited to she who she will become. I wonder what her little voice will sound like and what she will want to talk about. I wonder what her favorite things will be and where she will want to go. Will she be a princess or a tomboy? This is an amazing adventure, filled with wonder and surprises. She changes every day developing into who God has made her to be (I find that fascinating). I pray that I'm open to her likes even if they aren't what I pictured for her. I pray that I would be an encourager and guide her into knowing God and all the plans he has for her. I know there will be harder days than some, but in between those day I want to be building myself up as a mom to handle those days the way God would want me to..In Love! I always want her to know that we are there to love her and help her the way our parents did. I'm so thankful to have had a mom and dad who guided me and built a strong Godly foundation in me. Thanks Mom! So, here's to the first 4 months and to the beginning of a very fun life to share with my baby girl. We shall see who Hadley is in time! I can't wait!
Four months ago we were welcoming you into the world. Wow, it was such a fun day!! After these past 4 months of seeing you grow I am more in love with you than I ever thought possible. Your personality is so lively and fun. Your smile is contagious and I just want to squeeze and kiss on you all day! I pray that you will grow up loving the Lord, knowing how good He is and how much He loves you sweet princess. You are His beloved! I can't wait to see what the next 4 mo. holds (except I don't want you to grow up too fast)!! I love you sweet baby girl. love, Mom
Here is a little video so Hadley could tell you about some of the things she likes to do...
We have been pretty uneventful around here due to the freezing cold weather. We made it to church on Sunday, but that was the last time we took Hadley out. Its just too cold! We were suppose to head to Tulsa today, but decided to go next week since it feels like 13 below out there!
I managed to catch a few pics of HG napping today. She must be growing because she is sleeping a lot! Whenever I go in there to check on her I always find no covers, no socks, and a thumb in her mouth...too cute!
