8 months

Officially, HG won't be 8 months for another 2 day's, but close enough, right?    Every single day Hadley changes.  I can see glimpses of her as a big girl.  Lately, she has been interacting more when we play.  She has always played 'toys' with you, but now she is starting to let you know that she wants you to tickle her more, or pretend to 'eat' her fingers, or play peek-a-boo a bit longer.  And speaking of peek-a-boo, it is her most favorite game.  Just don't go that extra peek, because she tends to get soo into it, that it startles her and she cries:(

Josh's makes fun of me because every time she is a little fussy, I blame it on teething. Well, apparently she has been teething for awhile now and still no teeth, so he isn't really buying it.  Although, I really think she is now...lol.   One of these day's it will be true and we will have teeth.

HG still does not like her tummy and spits up every time I lay her on it, so needless to say I don't think she will be crawling.  I do think she will be a bottom scooter or an early walker. Her legs are really strong and she is able to stand up for a long time, so we'll see.

As far as eating, she is a good eater.  I think her new favorite it peas and brown rice along with pears.  She will eat pretty much anything except green beans.  I bought some MUM MUM's the other day and wow, those things rock!  They aren't too messy and they keep her well occupied.  I gave her one yesterday and looked down thinking she had dropped it, nope, she had eaten that thing so fast and was waiting for another one.

Overall, HG is a content little sis.  She is a good night sleeper, although we are still trying to work on a napping schedule.  We will get there :)

I love getting to spend my days with Hadley and there is no place in life I would rather be than right here, right now.  I'm so very grateful for this chance to be a mom.

We went to the park yesterday and here are some pics from the swings.
HG's feet going as fast as they can :)

I love you Hadley Grace!  You're my sweet princess!

Neighbors

We are so blessed to live next to the sweetest neighbors.  Vern and Marge are a sweet older couple that have taken Hadley under their wing.  They brought Hadley a gift after she was born and then stopped by on Easter to giver her this sweet bunny. Very thoughtful! I couldn't get HG to smile and apparently I took these the same day as her 7 mo picture in the same dress..lol :)

7 months

Ok, way behind, since HG will be 8 mo in a few days, but I wanted to post her 7 mo pic.

Team NRG baby!

This past weekend was the May Day run here in Republic.  It was so much fun having Emily and Sarah to run with.  It's amazing how much farther you can run with good conversation :)  Now, I've got my eye on a 10K and the triathlon.

Wanna play?

HG and her daddy love to play!  She is entertained by just sitting his lap and playing peek-a-boo, flying through the air, or getting tickled.  Hadley just loves him!  She also loves his phone :)  He always sets it on the arm of the sofa and you will notice in the last picture HG eyeing it :)  I took these with my phone, so not the best pics, but these moments are my favorite. Simple and sweet :)

A long time ago...

We celebrated Bonny's (aka Glam-ma) birthday back in November.  We were headed to a Christmas Candlelight shopping extravaganza :)  I don't have many pics of HG with her Glam and I thought this was cute.  It's amazing how big I thought Hadley was, when actually she was so tiny.

Dress Factory

I am a huge fan of Etsy thanks to my sister.  She turned me on to it when we were looking for bedding for Hadley's nursery.  If you haven't checked it out it's a must.  I like to browse and look at what people have created and have always wanted to create those cute dresses for Hadley.  I like having a project and this would have a purpose...cute dresses for HG.   Thanks to my mom over Easter, she went to the fabric store and helped me pick out everything I needed to make a dress.  She was so patient with me considering I knew NOTHING about sewing, I mean I couldn't even sew on a button or iron very well (both things Josh  does around here).  After a few days mom and I had made the dress and it turned out really cute.  I thought sewing was going to be a lot easier than it was, but being a beginner I tend to take one step forward, rip a  seam, take another step forward, rip a seam, etc...you get the picture, I'm a really good seam ripper :)  Well, back to Etsy, I decided to purchase a pattern for a pillowcase dress. Everyone says that they are the easiest dress to sew, perfect since I'm sewing solo!  I went to Hobby Lobby and loaded up on fabric (of course it had to match the pink thread that was already on the machine since I didn't have a clue on how to change the thread) , scissors, pins, ribbon, etc.  I'm telling you, I'm completely starting from scratch other than the loaned sewing machine by my mom.  I read all the directions, cut my fabric and was so excited to get started until the instructions said to serge the bottom fabric on or if using a sewing machine do a french seam.  HUH?!  I think I sewed the fabric on and ripped it off 4 times, until I finally figured it out, or at least got it to look right.  Wahoo....I was on my way, the rest of the dress was a breeze.  I tried my finished product on HG and the armholes were too small....uggghh.  Here I go a ripping and cutting and re-sewing.  Needless to say I have learned so much and I like the challenge of figuring it out and having a fun finished product.  That night I was so excited I had finished it, I wanted to sew more, so I headed back to Hobby Lobby and got enough fabric for 3 more dresses.  You will see HG wearing pillowcase dresses probably every time you see her..hehe.  These are the two that I finished this weekend.  Notice the blue and brown, I tackled changing the thread and after I googled it I was ready for the color change :)

Look-a-like

Ever since Hadley has been born there has never been the question of who she looks like.  I guess I'm not one to really mind that she looks nothing like me.  In fact, I'm glad she looks like Josh since I think he's pretty darn cute :)   Recently Josh was in AK at his dad's and found this pic....HG is Josh made over:)
So, the next time you see us and you might feel a little bad about telling me she looks nothing like me, it's ok, I get the message loud and clear :)

Miss Shopper

It's a big day when you can ride in the shopping cart!  She likes the ride because she can see more of the action and that there are a lot of people to say 'hi' to.  I am also thrilled with her new ability, because going to the store is a lot easier and much more convenient not having to carry in the carrier.  We are now officially on the hunt for a new carseat :)

Whew!

It has been a whirlwind this week and I'm just now recovering.  There is a lot to catch up on, but I'll post all about it later.  For now, I just wanted to post these pics I took a few days ago.
